Consul-General of the Republic of Korea in Hiroshima Visits Yamaguchi University

On the 3rd of December Consul-General Hur Duck-Haeng of the Consulate-General of the Republic of Korea in Hiroshima visited Yamaguchi University’s Yoshida Campus to meet with Yamaguchi University President, Prof. Dr. Marumoto, Dr.Tatsumi, Associate Professor of Extension Centre and the Director, Department of Comprehensive Planning, Mr. Honda.

President Marumoto addressed the delegates, speaking about his visit to South Korea in February this year where he visited the South Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. He also spoke about Yamaguchi University’s affiliation with several universities in South Korea and how he is strongly dedicated to strengthening ties between the neighboring nations through cooperation between universities.

In response to this the Consul-General expressed his enthusiasm for the continued strong relations with Yamaguchi University which is not only geographically close to South Korea but also close in friendship.

The participants of the meeting then discussed the possibility of setting up a foreign office for Yamaguchi University in South Korea and ways in which to encourage South Korean students to study at Yamaguchi University. After the meeting the Consul General took a tour of the Commercial Goods Museum, the Institute of East Asian Economic Affairs and the General Library.
