Charge d' Affaires a.i. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Japan Visits Yamaguchi University

On Wednesday, June 6, Dr. Jiban Ranjan Majumder, Charge d’ Affaires a.i. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh in Japan visited Yamaguchi University’s Graduate School of Economics.

Having a keen interest in the JDS (Japanese Grant Aid for Human Resource Development Scholarship) program implemented by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Charge d’ Affaires a.i. paid a visit to Yamaguchi University to learn about how the program has been implemented in Japan. He did this through discussions with the JDS students and their advisors at the Graduate School of Economics. He wanted to conduct an overall evaluation of Bangladeshi students and also receive feedback from the JDS students and faculty members on how students educated at Japanese universities through JDS would make a contribution in their own countries.

On the day, the Charge d’ Affaires a.i. greeted the director of the Graduate School of Economics and then made a 40-minute courtesy visit to the President’s Office. After this, he proceeded to the Graduate School of Economics to meet four faculty members in its Public Administration course and also four JDS students. After this, the faculty members in the Public Administration course introduced their course and made presentations on various topics.

This visit was pleasing for the Charge d’ Affaires a.i. and the faculty and students of Yamaguchi University and also helped foster the relationship between the Embassy of Bangladesh and the Graduate School of Economics.
